About

Harry Phillips in the ceramics Studio making a sculpture.

My work serves as a space to navigate emotion through material. Working with black stoneware, I use an intuitive mark-making process to translate visual language, sound, and the human form directly into clay.

These forms are shaped by lived experience, the challenges and milestones that have defined my path. I am drawn to the specific tension of the coiling process; for me, the technicality of the build is as much an inspiration as the subject matter itself. The grit of the stoneware and the rhythmic pace of each piece offer a way to meditate and grow, transforming the weight of personal history into something physical, tactile, and enduring.
